Your Opportunity + Impact

This Engineering Technician is an entry-level technical role within the Engineering disciplines that can operate within any department. The Engineering Technician will assist engineers in designing and compiling drawings and permit packages and will complete simple to intermediate plan sets and drawings.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Use CAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Microstation, InRoads, Sketch-Up, Photoshop, and other software programs relevant to the discipline to develop simple to intermediate, technically accurate, clean, and deliverable drawings.
  2. Review work to ensure accuracy, make corrections from red lines, and perform backchecks.
  3. Perform tasks within the assigned work-hour budget.
  4. Maintain documentation and project records.
  5. Coordinate technically with other disciplines as assigned by the Project Manager.
  6. Assist with simple design calculations, quantify materials, review technical specifications, and prepare cost estimates.
  7. Support quality assurance and quality control processes to improve deliverables and reduce errors & omissions.
  8. Perform building surveys and related fieldwork as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a Technical discipline.
  • Zero (0) to four (4) years of relevant experience.
  • No licensure required.

Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, Microstation, InRoads, and other relevant software/drafting programs (HAP, SketchUp, Photoshop, etc.).
  • Experience with 3D modeling and rendering for projects.
  • Ability to understand and modify client-specific prototypes.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Open-minded, technically skilled problem solver willing to learn new methods and technologies.
