Job summary

FMI in Scarborough, ME is seeking a dependable Engineering Technician to join our Manufacturing team. You will support production, maintenance, and facilities equipment, assist with fixture fabrication, and help specify and source new equipment.

You will troubleshoot, participate in root-cause analysis, and contribute to Lean initiatives, using MS Office and basic precision tools. This role requires a high school diploma, 6+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience, and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6+ years of technician-level work in manufacturing.
• Experience with basic fabrication methods, welding, machining.
• Ability to read and execute technical docs, drawings and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering, production maintenance and operations.
• Prepare new equipment for operation and support implementation.
• Fabricate or modify fixtures, tools and jigs.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues with maintenance team.
• Provide engineering support during trials and process changes.
• Follow safety practices for handling materials and processes.
• Document procedures and markup drawings for revisions.
• Utilize MS Office for reporting and documentation.
• Participate in root cause analyses and Lean initiatives.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
