Position Summary

Engineering Technician Sr – Military Flight Controls Division

Responsible for engineering technical duties requiring a high degree of accuracy in electronics, mechanical, and customer support tasks. Works within the Military Flight Controls Division, providing primary and secondary flight control systems for military aircraft.

Responsibilities
Electronic
  • Devise, improvise, and troubleshoot electronic circuits and instrumentation set-ups including oscilloscopes, oscillographs, x‑y recorders, and other standard lab equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to proficiently set‑up and operate data acquisition computers, process control systems, microprocessor applications, and automatic test equipment.
  • Rudimentary working knowledge of LabVIEW software as applied to data acquisition test consoles and systems. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of electronic principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics from system to component level.
  • High level of experience with electronic hand tools such as soldering & desoldering irons, wire strippers, and wire crimpers.
  • Must have the ability to perform fine soldering techniques for both thru‑hole and SMT applications.
Customer Support
  • Performs technical maintenance on a variety of moderately complex to complex electronic systems and components.
  • Plans and coordinates investigations into customer reports of technical product or service problems. Reviews performance trends, reports and documentation regarding malfunctioning or damaged products.
  • Recommends and may provide on‑site technical assistance to repair, replace or take other corrective actions; may perform rework or inspection of Parker's fielded hardware.
  • Maintains and analyzes detailed performance and maintenance service records.
  • May instruct customers on the operation and proper use and maintenance of equipment and ensures accuracy of work instructions and service handbooks and bulletins.
  • Facilitates coordination with OEM divisions to complete corrective actions.
Specialties
  • Working knowledge of PC’s and PXI based controllers. Knowledge of various MS Windows OS and Windows application software. Basic hands‑on experience and knowledge with LabView based hardware / software.
  • Functional understanding of digital electronic devices such as DSP’s, FPGA’s, PLA, BGA’s, EPROMS, and logic gates as well as Analog circuit knowledge.
  • High level of experience with electronic hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, wire crimpers, SMT soldering tools, and breadboarding skills.
  • Soldering experience in SMT, Fine pitch devices & through hole applications. Current or previous soldering certification to J‑STD‑001.
  • Must be able to communicate on a technical level both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to proficiently utilize all lab and test equipment.
  • ESD knowledge and certification.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date qualification data and daily logbooks on each project.
  • Recommend new techniques, systems, procedures and preventative maintenance to improve overall efficiency.
  • Make recommendations for the purchase and/or use of equipment.
  • Interface with employees from other functional areas i.e. design engineering, process manufacturing, quality control and vendors.
Qualifications
  • Five years related experience, trade or military training, or good understanding and demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to read engineering drawings, sketches, schematics and procedures.
  • Basic PC and electronic console skills where applicable.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
  • Personal hand tools may be required.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
Competitive Compensation

Pay Range: $27.09/hr to $45.14/hr. Participation in Annual Incentive Program.
