Job summary

Amperesand is seeking a hands-on Engineering Technician to support mechanical assembly and prototype equipment setup for our power infrastructure products. The role requires crafting and assembling fixtures and systems in a fast-paced environment, with a strong emphasis on precision and safety.

The ideal candidate has 4–5+ years of assembly experience, proficiency with hand/power tools, and familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 4–5+ years of assembly experience.
• Proficient with hand tools and power tools.
• Basic understanding of mechanical and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and interpreting drawings.
• Able to read electromechanical diagrams and engineering docs.
• Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assemble fixtures, tools, equipment with precision and quality.
• Support installation and commissioning of manufacturing equipment.
• Perform manual fabrication of brackets and fixtures using hand and power tools.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and work instructions.
• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot builds.
• Maintain lab/tool area organization and safety.
• Support shipping/logistics and manage prototype inventory.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, especially around high-voltage systems.
