Job description

Position Overview

Successful candidate will perform machine testing and maintenance on Ion Implanters and RF Plasma Systems. Candidates must take direction from management staff (physicists and engineers) and be able to independently provide expertise to accomplish assigned tasks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform routine maintenance tasks on semiconductor implant equipment to ensure proper functioning and prevent downtime.
2. Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, utilizing technical manuals, diagnostic tools, and expertise in semiconductor processes.
3. Conduct preventive maintenance activities according to schedule, including cleaning, calibration, and replacement of parts.
4. Collaborate with engineers and scientists to develop new semiconductor equipment and optimize existing equipment performance.
5. Document maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and adjustments, in maintenance logs and databases.
6. Assist in the setup and qualification of new experimental semiconductor implant equipment.
7. Stay updated on technological advancements and best practices in semiconductor equipment to continuously improve maintenance and operational processes.
8. Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while working with hazardous materials and high‑voltage equipment.
9. Participate in site Emergency Response Team (ERT) activities, including maintaining training, responding to emergencies, and supporting site safety initiatives.

Qualifications

1. Associate degree or equivalent technical certification in electronics, electrical, automotive, robotics, or a related field.
2. 5‑10 years of relevant experience.
3. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics.
4. Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail, ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve equipment issues efficiently.
5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
6. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced Engineering & R&D environment.
7. Willingness to adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures while working with hazardous materials and equipment.
8. Flexibility to work various shifts if business needs require, including for training and team building.
9. Ability to travel domestically and internationally, sometimes on short notice.
