Job summary

Axcelis Technologies seeks an Innovative R&D Equipment Engineer to support R&D development systems related to ion beam implantation. You will own engineering assets, manage maintenance, and coordinate upgrades with facilities and engineering teams.

You will install gases and chemicals per safety procedures, ensure interlocks, run tests, format data, and present findings to cross-functional groups. Instrumentation, design reviews, and documentation are part of the role.

Qualifications

• B.S. in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3–10 years of experience.
• Able to work with cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication and problem solving skills.
• Experience reading parts drawings and electrical schematics.
• Experience with toxic/hazardous gases and high voltage equipment.
• Physical ability to lift >35 lbs and stand long hours.

• Well versed in safety equipment and protocols.
• Ability to stand long hours and lift >35 lbs.
• No physical limitations on able to perform required tasks on complex systems.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working on complex semiconductor processing equipment or similar systems.
• Experience working on ion beam, plasma and RF related systems.
• Experience with data analysis in excel and/or statistics software packages.
• Experience programming lab automation software like Labview or similar.

Compensation

U.S. BASE SALARY RANGE $89,082.24 - $133,623.36

This base salary range reflects the typical compensation for this role across U.S. locations. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level; individual pay is determined based on multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, work location, and internal equity. The range provides the opportunity for growth and progression as you develop within the role.

• Base pay is one part of our U.S. total compensation package which includes eligibility in the Axcelis Team Incentive bonus plan, and comprehensive benefits package (for regular employees working 20+ hours a week).
