Job summary

AMETEK is seeking an Engineering Technician Intern to support the engineering team in a manufacturing environment. The role provides hands-on experience with process improvement, data analysis, RMA evaluations, and documentation.

You will assist with equipment validation, testing, troubleshooting, and contributing to root-cause analyses while developing technical skills and learning to apply AI tools to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical/ Manufacturing/ Industrial Engineering or related technical field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity and quality and evaluate AI outputs.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with manufacturing and process improvement projects.
• Perform RMA evaluations including inspection, documentation, failure analysis and corrective actions.
• Collect, organize, and analyze production and quality data.
• Support development and maintenance of work instructions, setup sheets, process documentation, and engineering records.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Assist with equipment validation, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct time studies to identify productivity and efficiency improvements.
• Assist in tooling, fixture, and machine improvement projects.
• Investigate customer complaints and internal quality issues by gathering data and supporting root cause analysis.
• Support new product introductions and engineering change implementations.
