Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineering Technician (Level 3) in San Diego to join the Manufacturing Engineering team. You will perform electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical duties, calibrate and test equipment, and support lab operations on CCA and UUT systems.

The role requires strong documentation, collaboration with engineers, and troubleshooting of electronic/electrical systems. Onsite work at Rancho Carmel and Spectrum campuses is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
• Experience documenting test results and collaborating with engineers and other technicians.
• Experience troubleshooting activities for electronic and electrical systems and components.
• Experience with troubleshooting UUT at board/component level; test equipment maintenance; cable repair; inventory control.
• General electrical/mechanical assembly and/or testing experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government Security Clearance.
• Must be a US Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, or electromechanical areas.
• Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, and maintains equipment, CCAs, UUTs or systems.
• Works from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
• Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
• Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed.
• Maintains lab operations; ensures lab equipment operability and calibration.
• Works from schematics and drawings; inspects or tests equipment; makes modifications as directed.
