Job summary

FOX Factory is seeking a hands-on prototyping engineer to develop industry-leading shock absorber prototypes. You will build, tear down, test, and report results under engineering guidance, while maintaining a clean shop and supporting field testing with the engineering team.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of automotive shock absorber prototyping experience, the ability to read engineering drawings, and proficiency with MS Office. Travel is required, and a technical AA or equivalent is preferred.

  • Experience: 3+ years of automotive shock absorber prototyping or similar experience.

  • Perform builds, teardowns and provide written reports to support R&D testing efforts under direction of engineering staff.
  • Collects, records, summarizes and maintains data on all work and communicates information to engineering.
  • Maintain shop organization and cleanliness.
  • Lead laboratory testing as assigned.
  • Organize and support offsite field testing with engineering team.
  • Follow current process and drive changes to increase efficiency.
  • Key contributor in the R&D process through builds and tuning efforts.
  • Work safely in accordance with Fox policies.

Position Summary:

Apply building expertise to generate industry leading prototype products for our customers. Responsibilities are expected to increase from lab builder to providing engineering support in the field. Will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with numerous internal and external teams to meet deadlines.

Position Responsibilities:

Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:

  • Ability to use lathe, mill, saws, etc. is preferred.
  • Ability to learn and understand data acquisition and data analysis.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Computer competency using Microsoft Office.
  • Travel is required.

Position Qualifications:

Education:

HS graduate or equivalent

AA degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience

Experience:

3+ years of automotive shock absorber prototyping or similar experience.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Manufacturing Environment

Lift up to 50 lbs.regularly

Requires walking, standing, bending and lifting for long periods of time

Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer

Travel required 1 week/quarter
