Job summary

SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician III located in Crane, IN to support U.S. Navy programs. The role involves test and evaluation, troubleshooting, documentation, and development of procedures for batteries across Li-ion, LiFeS2, LiCa, and lead-acid chemistries.

You will perform testing including temperature/humidity cycling, pressure/altitude, acceleration, vibration, and mechanical shock, reading electrical drawings, and coordinating with vendors. A Secret clearance is required to start.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Technology.
• Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance; Interim Secret required to start.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to read electrical drawings.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide test, evaluation, troubleshooting, lot acceptance, and documentation of batteries.
• Evaluate battery chemistries (Li-ion, LiFeS2, LiCa, Lead Acid).

Job Duties Include:

• Provide test and evaluation, troubleshooting, lot acceptance, qualification, engineering analysis, documentation, procedure/process creation, shipment/receipt and vendor coordination of batteries
• Provide test and evaluation of various battery chemistries, including Li-ion, Lithium Iron Disulfide, Lithium Calcium and Lead Acid
• Support battery testing that will consist of testing temperature/humidity cycling, pressure/altitude, acceleration, vibration, and mechanical shock

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in Electrical Technology or related field.Additional years of experience accepted in lieu of degree
• Mustbe able to obtain a Secret Clearance. Interim Secret needed to start
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Ability to read electrical drawings
• Must have excellent communication skills

Desired Skills:

• 5-7 years practical experience in a power source laboratory
