Job summary

SAIC in Crane, IN is seeking an Engineering Technician III to support the U.S. Navy. You will perform test and evaluation, troubleshooting, documentation, and coordination of batteries for Navy programs.

The role involves testing various battery chemistries (Li-ion, LiFeS2, Lithium Calcium, Lead Acid) and conducting environmental tests such as thermal cycling, pressure, acceleration, and vibration.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Electrical Technology or related field; higher experience accepted in lieu of degree.
• Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance; Interim Secret needed to start.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to read electrical drawings.
• Must have excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide test and evaluation, troubleshooting, lot acceptance, qualification, engineering analysis, documentation, procedure/process creation, shipment/receipt and vendor coordination of batteries.
• Provide test and evaluation of various battery chemistries, including Li-ion, Lithium Iron Disulfide, Lithium Calcium and Lead Acid.
• Support battery testing that will consist of testing temperature/humidity cycling, pressure/altitude, acceleration, vibration, and mechanical shock.
