Job summary

The City of Altoona, PA is seeking a full-time Engineering Technician I to join the Public Works Department. This role supports our Engineering team in preparing and reviewing plans and bids, inspecting materials, researching data, and analyzing topographical details of sites.

Candidates should have a working knowledge of civil engineering, experience with CAD, drafting, surveying, and the ability to read civil plans, maps, and specifications.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
• Experience with CAD drafting, surveying, and construction.
• Ability to read and interpret civil engineering plans, maps and specifications.
• Excellent communication skills to work with contractors, governmental agency representatives, City officials, and the public.
