Job summary

City of Bristol, Tennessee is seeking an Engineering Technician I, II or III to support the Utilities Department with drafting, surveys, GIS and field inspections. This role offers growth opportunities and paid training as you progress through levels I–III.

Level I focuses on basic drafting and data entry, Level II on detailed designs and survey coordination, Level III on lead responsibilities, QC oversight, and liaison with engineers and contractors.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or Cert in Civil Eng, CAD, Surveying or related field; 3 years of relevant experience if no degree

Responsibilities

• Plan/design documents (CAD, specs, cost estimates)
• Field inspections & materials testing
• Survey participation & field data collection
• GIS maintenance & mapping
• Utilize asset management system
• Documentation, records, and reference data upkeep
• Assist with site plan reviews
• Safety adherence and training
• Perform related duties as assigned
