Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC in Cookeville, TN seeks a Construction Survey Geomatics Technician III to support civil works projects with 3D modeling, data processing, and CAD drawings to DOT standards.

You will work under the Project Manager, utilize Microstation/Bentley tools and Trimble Business Center, and contribute to corridor, drainage and 3D modeling tasks. Requires 5 years of relevant experience, a valid driver's license, and ability to pass background checks.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience required.
• Strong computer and technical skills; Microstation or Bentley Roadway applications and Trimble Business Center is required; AutoCAD, Revit or similar application is a plus.
• Proficiency in technical math; Geometry and Trigonometry are a plus.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company MVR standards, clean background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Generate and check geomatics data relative to construction processes of civil works projects.
• 3D modeling of proposed designs and processing 3D/2D elements from LiDAR/remote sensing, field data, plans into CAD drawings to DOT standards.
• Report to the Project Manager and perform technical tasks using the latest A/E/C industry technology.
• Increase construction survey project efficiency and client satisfaction by supporting corridor and civil works projects.
• Establish construction elevations and vertical controls; develop and check layout data for buildings, bridges, utilities, and ROW.
• Develop and check surface drainage layouts, paving grades, and drainage structures.
• Develop and review 3D digital models of construction plans; model bridges and walls; verify locations against the 3D model.
• Generate data collector files for field crews; calculate volumes; ensure QA/QC.
