Job summary

City of San José Department of Transportation seeks Engineering Technician I/II in the Infrastructure Maintenance division to perform field investigations, review plans with CAD/GIS, and prepare meeting materials. Qualifications

Completion of high school, trade school, or equivalent (GED or California Proficiency Certificate).
Experience with field investigations and coordinating public meetings is a plus.
Familiarity with CAD or GIS tools for reviewing plans.

Responsibilities

Conducts field investigations and prepares summaries with guidance from Engineers.
Reviews and modifies capital improvement plans using CAD or GIS tools.
Assists with preparation of materials for public meetings (maps, presentations).
Responds to resident and public agency requests with clear written or oral responses.
Supports data entry, file management, and reporting for public records requests.
