Job summary

Carroll County Government is seeking an Engineering Technician I to support the Engineering Division with design, field data collection, and drafting for roadway and storm drain projects. You will contribute to CIP planning and highway design, applying basic highway principles and regulations as part of a team.

The role requires CAD experience, GIS skills, and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on collaboration and growth in a county government setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two or more years of related experience, including CAD.
• A comparable amount of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirement.

Responsibilities

• Perform computer aided design of projects, including horizontal/vertical alignments and storm drains.
• Compile information for right-of-way plats.
• Conduct field investigations of the county's culvert system and roadways; perform hydrology/hydraulic studies.
• Prepare worktables, charts and drawings for paving and pipe replacement contracts.
• Complete assigned work in a timely fashion; accept feedback.
• Collaborate and learn in a supportive work environment; demonstrate integrity and fiscal responsibility.
