Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has Engineering Technician (Civil) positions in the Central Federal Lands Highway Division (CFLHD). Projects occur primarily on Federal Lands managed by other agencies and span multi-state areas.

Minimum qualifications require specialized experience for the grade requested. For Grade 12, one year of experience at least equivalent to GS-11, including inspection and PS&E-related duties, and knowledge of highway standards.

Formación

• Engineering knowledge to provide technical assistance
• Understanding contract requirements to ensure compliance with plans and specs
• Clear, concise written communication for the intended audience
• Ability to make clear, convincing oral presentations and active listening

Responsabilidades

• Experience with administration and inspection of Federal, State or local highway construction projects including grading, drainage, bridge construction, retaining walls, traffic flow and maintenance, and paving
• Experience applying highway technical engineering standards to all stages of highway design, surveying, geotechnical analysis, erosion control, PS&E packages, and calculating pay item quantities
