Job summary

FMI is seeking a dependable, skilled Engineering Technician to join the Manufacturing team in Maine. You will work hands-on, supporting production, maintenance, and facilities equipment; influence design input and fabricate fixtures, components, and custom tools, and assist with equipment specifications and sourcing.

As an Engineering Technician, you will aid in process evaluation, troubleshooting, and manufacturing improvements while collaborating with multiple departments to develop and refine

Qualifications

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills are required.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to pursue relevant technical training to enhance skillset.
• Basic computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Supporting initiatives from engineering, production maintenance, and manufacturing operations.
• Preparing new equipment for operation and providing support during implementation and initial production.
• Fabrication or modification of fixtures, tools, jigs, etc. to support equipment and processes.
• Working with the maintenance team to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
• Providing engineering support to production during equipment trials or process changes.
• Following all safety practices for handling materials and operating processes.
• Participating in root cause analysis investigations as part of a team and communicating findings and results.
• Implementing process improvements and contributing to Lean initiatives.
