Job summary

FMI is seeking a dependable Engineering Technician to join our Manufacturing team in Maine. You will support production, maintenance, and facilities, fabricate fixtures and tools, and assist with equipment selection and troubleshooting under engineering guidance.

This role emphasizes hands-on machining, fabrication, documenting procedures, Lean improvements, safety, and collaboration with multiple departments. A strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6+ years of technician-level experience in manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience servicing or assembling mechanical equipment.
• Basic fabrication methods, welding, machining, and material handling.
• Ability to read and execute technical documents and drawings.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering, production maintenance, and manufacturing operations.
• Prepare new equipment for operation and assist during implementation and initial production.
• Fabricate or modify fixtures, tools, and jigs to support equipment and processes.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues with the maintenance team.
• Provide engineering support during trials or process changes.
• Follow safety practices and use PPE as required.
• Contribute to Lean initiatives and process improvements.
