FMI is seeking a dependable, skilled Engineering Technician to join the Manufacturing team in Maine. You will support production, maintenance, and facilities, fabricating fixtures and tools, and assisting with equipment sourcing and evaluation.

You will work with Engineers and multiple departments to drive improvements. Ideal candidates have 6+ years of technician experience, basic fabrication skills, and strong problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 6+ years of technician-level work in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on industrial experience, such as servicing or assembling mechanical equipment.
• Direct experience with basic fabrication methods, welding, machining, and material handling.
• Ability to use common hand and power tools, and basic precision measurement devices.
• Ability to read, interpret, and execute technical documentation including instructions, procedures, drawings, manuals, work orders, production travelers.
• Ability to document and revise process procedures and instructions, and clearly markup drawings for revision.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills; Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook.

Responsabilités

• Support initiatives from engineering, production maintenance, and manufacturing operations.
• Prepare new equipment for operation and provide support during implementation and initial production.
• Fabrication or modification of fixtures, tools, jigs, etc. to support equipment and processes.
• Work with the maintenance team to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
• Provide engineering support to production during equipment trials or process changes.
• Follow all safety practices for handling materials and operating processes.
• Operate with a safety-first attitude and be aware of hazards and apply proper care.
• Utilize computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Use PPE as required (respirators, goggles, visors, gloves, Tyvek suits).
• Participate in root cause analysis investigations and communicate findings and results.
• Implement process improvements and contribute to Lean initiatives.
