North Dakota Department of Transportation in Devils Lake, ND is seeking an Engineering Technician to perform field inspections on construction projects, measure quantities using Robotic Total Station GPS and MicroStation, and test road materials to ensure compliance with plans and specs.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years for Tech IV or 4+ for Tech III, with ability to work outdoors in all weather, and a valid North Dakota driver’s license; MOS substitutions are considered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with basic understanding of job-related concepts.
• Engineering coursework/degree may substitute on a year-for-year basis for higher levels.
• Experience with field inspections and construction materials testing is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Conduct field inspections for construction projects ensuring compliance with plans and specs.
• Perform tests on road and bridge materials to verify conformance with NDDOT specs.
• Assist project engineers with district design work and use MicroStation for plan sheets.
• Use equipment like Robotic Total Station GPS and drones to support field surveys.
