Job summary

The State of Louisiana DOTD is seeking an Engineering Technician to assist a professional engineer in drafting, design and survey work. You will use CADD and related software to plot and draft complex drawings and prepare contract proposals.

This role provides on-the-job training, with opportunities to work in the District Design Office and field settings. A high school diploma or GED is required, or six months of related engineering experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, or six months of sub-professional engineering experience.
• Basic computer software knowledge required.
• Proficiency with CADD or similar engineering software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist professional engineer in drafting, design, or survey work.
• Apply DOTD procedures and standards to drafting and design of construction plans.
