Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking an Engineering Technician for a 12-month contract in Jackson, MI, onsite with a hybrid option. The role supports our Fortune 500 client by collecting data, performing basic field tests, and coordinating multiple projects under lead engineers.

Ideal candidates will have a technical degree, strong communication and analytical skills, and the ability to read drawings. Travel to sites may be required as project scopes progress.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-year college degree in scientific or technical field or equivalent.
• Willingness to accept and follow direction.
• Good communication skills, including written and verbal.
• Good analytical skills.
• Good drawing reading skills.
• Ability to coordinating multiple projects and tasks.
• Skilled in PowerPoint, Word, Bluebeam / Adobe.
• Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Responsibilities include collecting/calculating data, basic testing in the field of specialization (if required).
• Coordinating multiple engineering projects, supporting lead project engineers in design reviews, drawing comment consolidation, specification development and design reviews.
• Also responsible for preparing engineering drawings, maps, finished drawings and graphic exhibits.
• Develop field reports, inspection reports and project summary reports in support of lead project engineers.
• Willingness to attend site visits and travel as required for field work.
