Job summary

Allient Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician Co-Op in Dayton, OH to support design, validation, and release of new products and improvements. The role involves working with engineering procedures and collaborating across teams to drive project execution.

The co-op will gain hands-on experience with engineering software, participate in meetings, and help with calculations and lab tasks, while developing useful tools and reports for the department.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled student and has completed two years of a 4-year technical program.
• GPA should meet or exceed 2.5/4.0 and semester GPA 2.75/4.0.

Responsibilities

• Familiarize with and follow Engineering procedures and processes.
• Utilize Engineering software supplied by Globe Motors.
• Assist with project management responsibilities.
• Complete Engineering calculations typical of a Project Engineer.
• Participate in customer/vendor meetings and presentations.
• Assist lab technicians in daily work assignments as needed.
• Assist Drafting/Designers in daily tasks.
• Develop spreadsheets/programs for the Engineering department.

Allient Inc. is currently seeking Engineering Technician Co-Op's to join our team in Dayton, Ohio! The Engineering Technician Co-Op works on assignments to support the organization’s need to design, validate, and release new products and/or product improvements.

Responsibilities

• Becomes familiar with and follows all Engineering procedures and processes.
• Utilizes the Engineering software that is supplied by Globe Motors.
• Assists with some project management responsibilities.
• Completes Engineering calculations typical of a Project Engineer.

• Assists lab technicians in their daily work assignments when necessary.
• Assists Drafting/Designers in their daily work assignments as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be an actively enrolled student having completed 2 years of education in a 4-year minimum technical program at an accredited institution.
• Cumulative grade point average should meet or exceed a 2.5/4.0 and a semester average of 2.75/4.0 as well.

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
