Job summary

Lam Research in Tualatin, Oregon is seeking an Engineering Technician 4 for the Front End Night shift to operate a state-of-the-art TEM, image semiconductor samples, and generate high-quality metrology data to accelerate development.

The role requires careful, detail-oriented work, a technical degree, and a willingness to work nights. Shift is 12 hours, Sunday to Tuesday with every other Saturday, and you will help protect customer IP while contributing to process improvements.

Qualifications

• BS or AS degree in a physical science such as Physics, Engineering or Chemistry.
• Experience operating TEM, preferably in semiconductor imaging.
• Knowledge of FIB/SEM, TEM tools and related vacuum/diffraction concepts.
• Experience with TEM sample prep and EDS/EELS is a plus.

The group you’ll be a part of

The SEM Lab in Tualatin is committed to providing best-in-class microscopy services to support Lam’s engineering and development efforts. Our objective is high volume metrology data generation, with rapid turnaround times to facilitate more experimental iterations and a faster time to solution.

What you’ll do

This position is for a TEM operator working a Front End Night shift.

• Shift will be 12hrs Sunday-Tuesday plus every other Saturday
• Operate a state-of-the-art TEM in order to image semiconductor samples.
• Protect customer IP through procedure andvigilance.
• Generate and integrate feedback contributing to the continuous improvement of the sample preparation process.
• Produce the best quality data in support of Lam's processes.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience operating HRTEM and S/TEM for imaging. Ideal candidates will have performed semiconductor or materials imaging.
• A BS or Associate level degree in a physical science such as Physics, Engineering or Chemistry.
• Knowledge of physics involved with FIB/SEM and TEM tools, such as vacuum systems, diffraction, and ion sputtering behavior.
• Experience in customer IP protection and sample handling.
• Experience with TEM sample preparation using a FIB preferred.
• Experience with EDS and EELS preferred.
