Job summary

The SEM Lab at Lam Research Corporation in Tualatin, Oregon operates a front-end night shift (12-hour shifts Sun–Tue plus every other Sat) to image semiconductor samples with TEM. You will generate high-quality metrology data supporting Lam's engineering efforts and protect customer IP through strict procedures.

Ideal candidates have experience with HRTEM/STEM imaging, vacuum systems, and diffraction. A BS/Associate in physics, engineering, or chemistry is preferred, with willingness to work

Qualifications

• Experience operating TEM or related electron microscopes in a research or industrial setting.
• Knowledge of physics concepts related to TEM, FIB/SEM and vacuum systems.
• Experience protecting customer IP and handling sensitive samples.

The group you’ll be a part ofThe SEM Lab in Tualatin is committed to providing best-in-class microscopy services to support Lam’s engineering and development efforts. Our objective is high volume metrology data generation, with rapid turnaround times to facilitate more experimental iterations and a faster time to solution.What you’ll doThis position is for a TEM operator working a Front End Night shift.Shift will be 12hrs Sunday-Tuesday plus every other SaturdayOperate a state-of-the-art TEM in order to image semiconductor samples.Protect customer IP through procedure and vigilance.Generate and integrate feedback contributing to the continuous improvement of the sample preparation process.Produce the best quality data in support of Lam's processes.Who we’re looking forCandidates looking to continue or advance a career in electron microscopy.People who see task repetition as an opportunity to iterate and innovate towards better methods.Careful, detail-oriented observers.Fondness of learning and ability to respond well to feedback.Willingness to work a night shift schedule as described above.Preferred qualificationsExperience operating HRTEM and S/TEM for imaging.
