Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineering Technician 2 for our Defense Systems sector at the Rocket Center, West Virginia site. The role supports technical data handling, analytical testing, and plant-level technical assistance on diverse tasks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent plus 2 years related experience.
• Technology degree preferred.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds and work in tight spaces.
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operates analytical instrumentation.
• Performs standard analytical test methods for quality control, material assessment, or engineering evaluation.
• Provides technical support to plant personnel on a variety of tasks.
• Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data.
• Follows engineering documentation requirements including specifications and drawings.
• Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas.
• Performs quantitative judgments concerning technical data.
• Prepare, assemble and disassemble known and unique energetic articles.
• Disposes of energetics and raw materials per regulatory guidelines.
• Communicates well across multiple disciplines.
• Monitors gauge, instrument, and equipment calibrations.
• Performs a variety of technical procedures such as preparing routine solutions and reagents.
• Support research scientists with operation of sub-scale mixers.
• Able to work overtime as required.
