Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineering Technician 2 for its Rocket Center, WV location. You will operate analytical instrumentation and perform standard test methods to support quality control and engineering evaluation.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) with 2 years of related experience, and a technology degree is preferred. You may need to lift 30 pounds, work in tight spaces, and obtain a security clearance as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
• Technology degree preferred.
• Ability to routinely lift 30 pounds and work in tight spaces.
• Demonstrated hands‑on mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Ability and willingness to provide coverage on weekends.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operates analytical instrumentation.
• Performs standard analytical test methods for quality control, material assessment, or engineering evaluation.
• Provides technical support to plant personnel on a variety of tasks.
• Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data.
• Follows engineering documentation requirements including specifications and drawings.
• Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas.
• Performs quantitative judgments concerning technical data.
• Prepare, assemble and disassemble known and unique energetic articles.
• Disposes of energetics and raw materials per regulatory guidelines.
• Communicates well across multiple disciplines.
• Monitors gauge, instrument, and equipment calibrations.
• Performs a variety of technical procedures such as preparing routine solutions and reagents and performing routine reactions.
• Support research scientists with operation of sub-scale mixers.
• Able to work overtime as required.
