Job summary

Teledyne Relays, a Teledyne Defense Electronics unit, is seeking an Engineering Technician to diagnose, repair, and build test equipment and support RF devices in manufacturing. You will work hands-on with temperature chambers, vibration systems, and automated testers while documenting test outcomes.

The role requires an engineering degree or equivalent technician experience, knowledge of electrical test equipment, and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent technician experience (Electronic preferred) is required.
  • Knowledge of electronic circuit analysis and repair; experience using a spectrum analyzer to test RF devices.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to use schematics and blueprints to assemble test systems.
  • Experience with MS Word and Excel is expected.
  • Must be able to work with moving mechanical parts and in a safety-conscious environment.
  • US Person status (citizens, nationals, lawful permanent residents, asylees or refugees).
  • Background check and drug screen are required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in failure analysis and communicate findings clearly to supervisors and coworkers.
  • Prioritize and plan work to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Suggest changes to test methods, assembly processes, or equipment to Engineering.
  • Conduct operator training on equipment and perform periodic maintenance.

We are seeking for an Engineering Technician with the following qualifications:

Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on diagnosing, repairing and building of test and manufacturing equipment. Including Temperature Chambers and Temperature Controllers.
  • Operate and repair of vibration and shock systems, electrical testers, laser welders, and other specialized automatic equipment.
  • Assist production in the testing of coaxial switches and other RF devices and compiling test reports when needed.
  • Works on assignments that are not routine in nature with ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice.
  • Strive to continuously build knowledge and skills and share expertise with group while following Company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Participates in failure analysis. Exhibit sound judgment and communicate clearly to Supervisor and co-workers when identifying/resolving problems, developing alternate solutions, asking questions for clarification/providing feedback.
  • Be able to prioritize/plan work demonstrating time efficiency, accuracy, and thoroughness to ensure quality products and processes.
  • Recommends changes in test methods/assembly process or equipment to Engineering.
  • Conducts operator training on the proper use of equipment and performs periodic maintenance.
  • Experience programming with LabView, python, or similar test and automation software is a plus.

Requirements:

  • A.A. or B.S. degree in engineering (Electronic preferred) or equivalent technician experience such as with the Military or Technical School.
  • Must have knowledge of electronic circuit analysis and repair – have prior experience using a spectrum analyzer to test RF devices.
  • Must have good hand eye coordination, good manual dexterity.
  • Must have knowledge/experience with a multimeter, power supply, electronic test software/equipment.
  • Must have basic computer experience, and knowledge of MSWord and MS Excel.
  • Must be able to use schematics and blueprints to assemble test systems.
  • Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out written/oral/diagram form instructions and be able to deal with problems with concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Will occasionally be in contact with moving mechanical equipment and will continuously be working near moving mechanical parts.

Salary Range:

$45,300.00-$60,400.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
