Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated seeks a Mechanical Engineer in San Diego to research, plan, and design mechanical and electromechanical products and systems.

You will analyze data, design tooling and equipment, and drive process improvements while coordinating with cross-functional teams; 3-4 years of related experience and a BS in Mechanical Engineering required; SolidWorks proficiency expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
  • 3–4 years of directly related experience.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

  • Researches and analyzes data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
  • Specify and/or design tooling fixtures, special machinery, and equipment to facilitate the manufacture of parts and assemblies.
  • Recommends and implements process improvements that will enhance manufacturing, quality and reduce cost of parts and assemblies.
  • Interfaces with other engineers in fabrication of equipment, and development of methods and procedures for testing products or systems.
  • Directs and coordinates fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
  • Coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of machines and equipment.
  • Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.

Job Description
General Overview

Researches, plans, and designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems, and directs and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems.

Works on routine problems and projects. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Contact with others is primarily internal.

Education And/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in Mechanical Engineering or closely related technical field and 3-4 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Required Experience
  • Proficiency with Solidworks.
  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interface efficiently in a cross-functional group in an engineering and production environment.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Salary Range

$72,800.00-$97,100.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
