This is an in-office position for hire at Inspired Flights HQ in San Luis Obispo, CA.

Job Description

Inspired Flight is seeking a talented and experienced Engineering Technician to join our Engineering team. An Engineering Technician is a specialized role responsible for complex mechanical and electrical manufacturing of medium and heavy lift small uncrewed aircraft systems (sUAS or drones).

This position is vital to the efficiency of the Engineering Team at Inspired Flight and will be part of a rapidly growing company in the growing UAV industry. Lots of upward mobility available for this role!

Typical responsibilities:

• Testing, troubleshooting and repairs mechanical of electrical/electronic equipment
• Building and repair of cable wire harness assemblies
• Mechanical and electrical aircraft and payload assembly
• Soldering PCBs to IPC standards and Inspired Flight quality standards
• Assist in developmental assembly and prototyping of production parts
• Execute test flights with development aircraft
• Maintain lab utilizing Lean 5S best practices

Youll excel in this role if you have:

• Holds Active FAA Part 107 Certification
• Ability to follow drawings, schematics and engineering documentation
• Familiarity with 3D printers, Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, and other development tools and equipment.
• Work well in a collaborative environment
• Arent shy about proposing creative ideas on how to improve product
• Are a self-starter and enjoy taking on new challenges requiring creative solutions

Education/Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least one year of manufacturing or assembly work experience
• Experience preferably in the following industries: aviation, aerospace, defense sector
