At Sunrise Systems our engineers dream up the "what if," but you make it "what is." You will be the master of the Engineering Lab, acting as the primary hands-on force in bringing prototypes to life and ensuring our hardware is bulletproof.
Engineering Technician: The Bridge Between Concept & Reality
Do you have a "surgical" hand with a soldering iron? Do you look at a complex schematic and see a story instead of just lines? Do you get a dopamine hit when you finally track down that one elusive bug?
If you’re the person people go to when a prototype "just won't work," we want you in our lab. We aren’t looking for someone to just push buttons; we’re looking for a hands-on partner to help us build, break, and perfect the next generation of LED signs and associated electronics.
What You’ll Actually Do
- The Build: Take a raw PCB and a bag of components and turn them into a masterpiece. You’ll be doing high-precision SMT rework, fine-wire jumping, and assembly that looks factory-perfect.
- The Hunt: You’ll be the "detective" on the bench. Using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and thermal cameras, you’ll diagnose failures down to the component level and suggest the "fix" to the design team.
- The Lab Rig: You’ll design and build custom test fixtures and wiring harnesses that make validation look easy.
- The Command Center: You’ll own the lab environment—managing the component library, keeping the equipment calibrated, and ensuring the "bench" is always ready for battle.
Your Toolkit
- The "Hand": Expert-level soldering (IPC-610 mindset). You’re comfortable with 0402s, QFNs, and the occasional "dead-bug" hack.
- The "Brain": You can read a schematic like a map. You know your way around SPI, I2C, and power rails.
- The "Eye": Extreme attention to detail. You notice the slightly skewed capacitor or the cold solder joint that everyone else missed.
- The "Experience": You have an Associate’s in Electronics, military training, or a "black belt" from years of real-world bench experience.
Bonus Points If...
- You’ve got a home lab or a history of "breaking things to see how they work."
- You can write a bit of code to automate a repetitive test.
- You’ve navigated the "dark arts" of EMC/EMI compliance testing before.
Why Join Us?
- High-End Gear: We don’t skimp on the tools you need to do your job.
- Zero Bureaucracy: Work directly with the design engineers. Your feedback changes the final product.
- Growth: We want you to get better. Whether it's learning how to design your own circuitry or mastering new protocols, we support your technical evolution.
