ManpowerGroup is seeking an Engineering Technician for the Powertrain Systems team in Fremont, CA. You will support vehicle development by building testing hardware for EE systems, troubleshooting, and performing HV safety procedures, while collaborating with design engineers to meet developmental goals.

The role requires a 4+ year background in automotive wire harness or EV systems, proficiency in harness drawings, and hands-on fabrication skills such as soldering and crimping.

Qualifications

• Passion for electric and autonomous mobility and development of electrical systems.
• AS or trade school certificate in mechatronics, electronics, or equivalent experience.
• High voltage and low voltage safety training.
• 4+ years of experience related to automotive wire harness or EV systems.
• Ability to read wire harness drawings and manage wire circuit lists; soldering, crimping, stripping, and harness fabrication experience.

Responsibilities

Our client, an advanced electric and autonomous mobility organization, is seeking an Engineering Technician to join their team. As an Engineering Technician, you will be part of the Vehicle Development organization supporting the Powertrain, Thermal, & Electrical Engineering team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong focus on safety, hands‑on troubleshooting ability, and a drive to support engineering teams through reliable test and development execution.

Job Title: Engineering Technician, Powertrain Systems

Location: Fremont, CA

Pay Range: $40-$45/hour + Benefits

What's the Job?

• Prepare and build testing hardware for electrical engineering (EE) systems down to the component level.

• Troubleshoot testing hardware for EE systems at the component level to identify and resolve issues.

• Perform approved high voltage enable/disable procedures following established safety processes.

• Collaborate with design engineers to develop test systems that meet engineering needs and support development goals.

• Make, update, and repair wire harnesses for EV vehicles in the stage of development.

What's Needed?

• Passion for electric, autonomous mobility, and specifically electrical systems development.
