Job summary

HireTalent - Staffing & Recruiting Firm is seeking an Engineering Technician with strong automotive and electrical experience to install and support two-way radios across Colorado's fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment. The role is field-based, hands-on, and independent, requiring travel to service centers, plants, and field sites to perform installations.

Qualifications

• Experience installing equipment in vehicles (radios, stereos, lights, mobile electronics).
• Ability read wiring diagrams and make clean electrical connections.
• Hands-on, safety-conscious, able to work in garages and field locations.

Responsibilities

• Driving to multiple service centers and plants across Colorado.
• Install two-way radios in vehicles and heavy equipment, run wiring, mount antennas.
• Disassemble and reassemble interiors (trim, panels) as needed.
• Use ServiceNow to view tickets and plan daily work.
• Communicate with vehicle owners to place radios per their preference.
• After training, perform basic troubleshooting and simple programming changes.
• Wear PPE and follow safety rules in field environments.
• Manage own schedule and travel, including hotel stays and expensing.

Job description

We are seeking an Engineering Technician with strong automotive/electrical experience to install and support two-way radios and related equipment across a large fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment in Colorado.

This role is highly field-based, hands-on, and independent. You will travel to various service centers, plants, and field locations to perform installs and eventually basic troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

• Driving around Colorado to different service centers and plants
• .Installing two-way radios in vehicles and equipment (pickup trucks, big trucks, utility vehicles, heavy equipment)
• .Running wires and mounting antennas, which means taking some parts of the vehicle interior apart and putting them back together
• .Using a ticketing system (ServiceNow) to see what vehicles need work and planning their day
• .Talking with the vehicle owner/operator to find out where they want the radio and installing it to their preference
• .After training, doing basic troubleshooting and simple programming changes on radios when needed
• .Wearing PPE and following safety rules while working in garages, plants, and sometimes outside
• .Managing their own schedule and travel, including hotel stays (then expensing those costs back to the company)
