Job summary

Human Active Technology (HAT) is looking for an Engineering Technician to join our team. You will support product development, create engineering drawings, and assist with prototypes and testing.

The ideal candidate is mechanically minded and enjoys problem-solving while working with CAD. You will collaborate across departments to deliver high-quality ergonomic solutions.

Qualifications

  • 0–10 years of relevant experience; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.

Description

Human Active Technology (HAT) is looking for an Engineering Technician to join our Engineering team and support the development, improvement and customization of our products. This role works closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and Sales to develop drawings, support prototypes and testing, implement product changes, create bills of materials and estimates and help solve production and product-related issues.

The ideal candidate is mechanically minded, comfortable working with CAD and technical drawings, enjoys solving problems and can move between hands‑on work and computer‑based design.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop, maintain, review and publish engineering drawings and design specifications.
  • Implement drawing and product changes through the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process.
  • Assist Engineers with new product development, prototypes, testing and test setups.
  • Assist with creating estimates and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Support custom product development and customer-specific projects.
  • Partner with Engineering and Quality to ensure drawings and documentation are accurate and complete.
  • Provide technical support to Sales and assist with customer‑related product questions.
  • Travel occasionally to support customers in the field and troubleshoot product‑related issues.
  • Assist Engineering and Manufacturing with production problem‑solving and root cause analysis.
  • Use mechanical hand tools, simple power tools and mechanical test equipment as needed.
  • Manage assigned projects, priorities and deadlines while keeping work organized.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to support HAT's goals and deliver high‑quality products.
What We’re Looking For
  • Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Computer‑Aided Drafting & Design (CADD) or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • 0–10 years of relevant experience; entry‑level candidates with the right technical foundation are encouraged to apply.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing materials and processes.
  • Functional knowledge of CAD and technical drawing practices.
  • Strong mechanical and spatial aptitude.
  • Creative, analytical and practical problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Comfortable using mechanical hand tools, simple power tools and test equipment.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Sales and other departments.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while knowing when to ask questions and collaborate.
