Job summary

Breckenridge Grand Vacations, LLC is seeking an Engineering Technician to support maintenance across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and related trades at Grand Timber Lodge in Colorado. This full-time, non-exempt role requires nights and weekends, with a starting compensation of $23.00 per hour DOE.

The technician will respond to maintenance needs, inspect units, and perform preventive tasks to ensure flawless operations and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months’ experience in building maintenance or related trades.
  • Proficiency with hand/power tools and mechanical systems.
  • CPO/AFO certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

  • Perform multi-trade work across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliance repair, and tile work.
  • Maintain hydronic heating, snowmelt, and water circulation systems.
  • Service boilers, air handlers, garage doors, and aquatic systems.

Engineering Technician
Location: Grand Timber Lodge
Position: Full-Time Non-Exempt
Compensation: Starting at $23.00 (DOE)
Schedule: Nights and Weekends required
About the Role:

As a Maintenance Technician with BGV, you'll play a vital role in our Sharing Smiles mission by ensuring our resorts operate flawlessly while delivering exceptional guest experiences. This hands-on position combines skilled trades expertise with genuine hospitality in Colorado's premier mountain destination. You'll be the behind-the-scenes hero who keeps our properties in perfect condition, responding to maintenance needs with both technical skill and a service-oriented approach. From routine repairs to special projects, your work directly contributes to creating memorable stays for our guests and a positive work environment for your team. Responsibilities
  • Perform intermediate-level work across multiple trades: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliance repair, and tile work
  • Maintain hydronic heating, snowmelt, and water circulation systems
  • Service boilers, air handlers, garage doors, and aquatic systems (pools/hot tubs)
  • Conduct pre-arrival unit inspections and complete work orders using company software
  • Perform snow/ice removal (shoveling, plowing) and grounds maintenance (mowing, landscaping)
  • Manage inventory and maintain clean, organized work areas
  • Assist with furniture/appliance installations and guest room relocations
  • Respond to emergency situations including fire alarms and evacuations
  • Deliver exceptional service with prompt response to requests
  • Transport luggage, rollaway beds, and packages as needed
  • Resolve maintenance issues completely ("End of Line" philosophy).
Requirements
  • Minimum 6 months’ experience in building maintenance or related trades
  • Proficiency with hand/power tools and mechanical systems
  • Valid driver's license with clean record
  • CPO/AFO certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs. regularly and work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Stand/walk for extended periods with frequent bending/stooping
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in related field
  • Experience with pool chemistry, boiler systems, or hospitality environments

Tech I $23.00 - $26.50 Entry-level proficiency

Tech II $24.25 - $27.88 Intermediate appliance, aquatics, drywall

Tech III $25.50 - $30.00 Electrical, plumbing, carpentry

Tech IV $29.00 - $34.75 Advanced all-trade mastery
