Job summary

Westgate Vacation Villas & Town Center Resort in Kissimmee, FL is seeking an Engineering Tech I to support resort operations with maintenance projects and preventive tasks. You’ll assist with basic repairs, plumbing diagnostics, and equipment setup under the direction of resort management.

Ideal candidates have up to 1 year of maintenance experience, strong English communication, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 0-1 year hands-on experience in trades and maintenance within a resort/commercial environment
• Written and verbal communication in English expected
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work with enthusiasm and focus
• Strong communication skills for interactions with guests and colleagues
• Ability to be versatile, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines
• Communicate effectively with immediate supervisors and resort leadership
• Regularly lift/move up to 50+ pounds

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering projects, guest calls, blitzes, and preventive maintenance as directed by resort management
• Provide general support with tasks like painting, caulking, and wall repairs
• Conduct basic plumbing diagnostics on toilets, bathtubs, jacuzzis, showers, faucets, and sinks
• Reset breakers and GFCIs, replace light bulbs, measure voltage
• Install/replace TVs, troubleshoot, and program remotes and devices
• Diagnose appliances and assist with replacements
• Participate in procurement and inventory to ensure materials on-site
• Operate resort devices/software (HotSOS)
• Communicate professionally via radios, phones, email
• Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as required
• Use hand/power/battery tools safely
• Work with ladders/scaffolding/lifts and PPE
• Follow safety guidelines and identify hazards
• Assist with guest needs and resolutions
• Represent Westgate Resorts professionally
• Other tasks as assigned

Job Description

Support resort operations by performing maintenance tasks, including projects, preventive maintenance, and work orders.

As a Engineering Tech I, you will,

• Perform engineering projects, guest calls, blitzes, and preventive maintenance as directed by resort management
• Provide general support by performing basic tasks such as painting, caulking, and wall repairs
• Conduct basic plumbing diagnostics on toilets, bathtubs, jacuzzis, showers, faucets, and sinks, including unclogging
• Reset breakers and GFCIs, replace light bulbs, and measure available voltage using appropriate tools
• Install and/or replace TVs, troubleshoot issues, and program remote controls, TVs, and other electronic devices
• Diagnose appliances, replace minor components, and assist with complete replacements as needed
• Actively participate in procurement and inventory processes to ensure materials and tools are available on-site
• Operate resort operations devices and software effectively (HotSOS and other applicable systems)
• Communicate professionally through radios, phones, emails, and verbal interactions
• Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as required by resort management
• Safely use hand tools, power tools, and battery-powered tools needed for the job
• Work using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
• Follow safety guidelines and practices
• Recognize and identify potential safety hazards on the property
• Communicate and interpret guest needs through positive interactions toward resolution
• Adhere to all CFI/Westgate Resorts policies and procedures
• Always represent Westgate Resorts professionally through appearance, attire, and behavior
• Perform other tasks as assigned by resort operations leadership
