Job summary

Daniel Defense engineers and manufactures the world’s finest weapon systems and accessories. The Engineering Team Lead will guide the manufacturing engineering group, drive Lean initiatives, and ensure on-time delivery of precision components.

The role requires a BS in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of manufacturing leadership, and proficiency in SolidWorks, Mastercam, Esprit, CNC programming, and GD&T; strong communication and safety focus.

Qualifications

• BS in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering, or related field + 3 years previous manufacturing experience; or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven leadership abilities and commitment to Safety Excellence
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
• Articulate complex issues simply
• Ability to build strong relationships and a strong team
• Demonstrated ability to recognize high profile opportunities and respond as needed without prompting

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental health and safety leadership and policies.
• Ensure daily operations are completed by Engineering Team Members.
• Ensure milestones/goals are met on time and budgets are adhered to.
• Support all new product development, product introduction, and current production needs.
• With manager, coach and guide objectives, scorecards, and goals for each team member.
• Mentor and train Engineering team members and provide career coaching.
• Assist in reducing cost through re-engineering product/material.
• Lead manufacturing process improvements to enhance safety, quality, delivery and cost.
• Lead group in lean manufacturing improvements, process development and corrective action support.
• Collaborate with R&D, QA, and maintenance to prevent issues with machinery and tools.
