River Technologies in New York City is seeking a software/AI engineer to design and ship custom financial-firm solutions. You’ll work directly with engineering teams and clients to scope problems and deliver reliable software from day one.
We operate with a lean team and no formal hierarchy, so you’ll own your work and collaborate across projects. Relocation to NYC is fully covered, and employees enjoy daily lunches and unlimited PTO.
At River Technologies, we raised a $9.5M seed round led by Founders Fund to build custom software from scratch for financial firms.
To date we've worked with global investment banks, fundamental and quantitative hedge funds, private credit and private equity managers, and sovereign wealth funds. We crossed 7-figures in revenue in under a year with less than 5 people on the team.
Every client comes to us with a different problem and a specific system they need built. You'll work directly with the engineering teams and subject-matter experts at these firms, design a solution to fit, and ship it.
This is a role for someone who wants range. If working across many projects and functions excites you, and spending three years maintaining a single platform sounds like a slow death, you'll be at home here.
You've either spent two+ years at a financial firm building software or AI, or you've gone deep building at the application layer in AI.
You know how to leverage AI to move quick and own what you build from day one. You're comfortable being dropped into a new domain and figuring it out. You're beyond meticulous about creating software that works 100% of the time for who it's built for. And lastly, you can sit across from a variety of clients, and understand what they are really asking for.
We're a lean team built around low ego and high ownership. By design, we have no hierarchy within our engineering team. Everyone has a voice regardless of years of experience. Your work speaks for you. Our office is in New York City, at the heart of the institutions we serve.
Our standard compensation ranges from $275k to $400k not including bonuses or equity (which can range from 0.25% to 3%). Relocation to NYC is fully covered and benefits include daily lunches, unlimited PTO, and more.
