Their platform supports investors, family offices, wealth managers, financial institutions, and asset managers by centralising complex investment information, delivering greater transparency, operational efficiency, and actionable insights across alternative asset classes.
They are looking to disrupt the investment space (venture capital, hedge funds and private equity) by building an AI-native platform that simplifies the management of private investments through automation, data standardisation, and intelligent workflows. You will act as a technical leader, driving architectural decisions, mentoring engineers, and delivering systems that support enterprise-grade performance, reliability, and security.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of large-scale technical initiatives spanning multiple teams and product areas
- Architect and build scalable backend services, distributed systems, and platform capabilities
- Drive technical strategy and influence engineering direction across the organisation
- Partner closely with product, design, data, and engineering stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions
- Evaluate architectural trade-offs with a focus on scalability, maintainability, performance, and security
- Mentor engineers through technical leadership, code reviews, design discussions, and hands‑on guidance
- Identify and address technical debt, platform bottlenecks, and infrastructure challenges
- Establish and promote software engineering best practices, development standards, and operational excellence
- Contribute to platform evolution and long-term technical roadmap planning
- Support the delivery of reliable, observable, and highly available production systems
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Proven track record delivering complex technical projects with organisation-wide impact
- Strong experience building and scaling modern SaaS, fintech, or enterprise software platforms
- Experience designing systems that prioritise performance, resilience, security, and scalability
- Strong understanding of software architecture patterns, APIs, and data-intensive applications
- Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction and build alignment across teams
- Experience mentoring engineers and elevating engineering standards
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable operating in fast-moving, high-growth technology environments
- Experience building software within fintech, wealth management, investment technology, financial data, or capital markets environments
- Previous experience at a fast-growing technology startup or scale-up
