Job summary

Linear is building the product development system for teams. The company is remote-first with optional co-working offices in San Francisco, New York, and London.

This role is open to candidates in North America (Eastern time), with a strong preference for the New York City area to enable closer collaboration with a growing local team. We’re seeking an experienced technical recruiter to own searches across product, infrastructure, AI, mobile, and other technical areas.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience at high-growth startups or product-led technology companies.
• Exceptional sourcing ability turning research, networks, referrals into relationships.
• Strong judgment about technical talent, product orientation, ownership, and environments for success.
• Ability to build credibility with sought-after engineers and present Linear’s opportunity clearly.
• Proven record of direct relationships with demanding hiring managers and technical leaders.
• Strong interviewing skills and ability to assess impact beyond polished performance.
• Clear, persuasive written and verbal communication.
• High operating discipline with prioritization, follow-through, and fast feedback.
• Comfort working in a small, distributed team with minimal process.
• Familiarity with Linear or similar high-craft software environments.
• Commitment to candidate experience and closing conversations.
• Adaptable generalist capable of supporting other functions as priorities evolve.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering leaders to understand teams, develop hiring strategies, and own searches.
• Build a high-quality pipeline through mapping, sourcing, referrals, and relationships.
• Identify engineers with strong technical foundations, product judgment, and ownership.
• Conduct in-depth recruiter assessments covering technical fluency and motivation.
• Maintain momentum with transparent communication and clear ownership at every stage.
• Use data and feedback to improve sourcing strategies and pre-work trial calibration.
• Maintain accurate data in Ashby and provide visibility into pipeline health and risks.
• Contribute to how the small Talent team operates while supporting other functions as needed.
