Job summary

McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing Inc. is seeking a mechanical engineering intern to assist a variety of engineers on the assembly floor and in design reviews. You will engage with production, test, and manufacturing teams to support mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system work.

Responsibilities include evaluating new designs, updating BOMs, and assisting with ECNs, with emphasis on hydraulic circuits and system performance. Prior internship experience and CAD familiarity are a plus.

Qualifications

• Student working towards a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field for the entire duration of internship.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read hydraulic symbols and schematics.
• Previous internship or work-related experience preferred.
• Experience using SolidWorks or similar CAD system.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers on the assembly floor with multiple tasks on mechanical engineering functions.
• Evaluate new designs and identify potential improvements.
• Lead cross-functional design reviews to optimize design.
• Evaluate, update, and design hydraulic circuits.
• Design, model, and test mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Collaborate with engineering disciplines to refine control and performance.
