Job summary

Hotel Yountville, a luxury boutique property in Napa Valley, seeks an experienced maintenance engineer to manage central systems and ensure guest comfort.

You will operate and service HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and kitchen equipment; perform preventive maintenance; and troubleshoot issues promptly to uphold safety and reliability.

A background in building construction and ability to read blueprints, plus strong communication, are required.

Qualifications

• Hotel engineering experience including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, commercial kitchen and general building work.
• Vocational training, associate's degree, certification or apprenticeship; state licensure where required.
• Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and boiler systems.
• Read blueprints, schematic drawings and technical parts breakdown.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• High work ethic and self-initiative.

What you will be doing

• Efficiently and safely operate central HVAC equipment and mechanical equipment using sound engineering practices and specified corporate operating procedures.


• Accurately and efficiently repair and maintain food production and related kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, ice machines and refrigeration systems, boilers and plumbing systems and all electrical and natural gas distribution systems.


• Trouble-shoot electrical and pneumatic problems and repair them as quickly and economically as possible.


• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on an on-going basis.

Requirements

Hourly Pay rate $35.00-$38.00

What we are looking for

• Previous hotel engineering experience required, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, commercial kitchen and general building construction


• Vocational training, associate's degree, certification and/or apprenticeship in one or more area; state certification or licensure where required


• Understand and efficiently maintain and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and boiler systems.

• Physical Requirements (In-Office Role)


• Ability to work in a standard office environment.


• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. (6-8 hours a day)


• Occasional standing and walking throughout the workday.


• Frequent fine motor skills, use of hands and fingers for keyboarding/typing, utilizing a mouse or trackpad, writing, and operating office equipment.


• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.


• Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, reach, or carry items.


• Ability to lift and/or move 10-25 pounds as needed (e.g., files, office supplies).


• Visual ability to read from a computer screen and printed materials including close visual focus for extended periods and color differentiation (for certain roles).
