Job summary

Four Seasons Resort in Vail, Colorado seeks an Engineering Maintenance Assistant to support the Engineering Manager across resort and building maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and safety compliance. Respond to inquiries and help plan and direct the workflow of maintenance requests to achieve guest satisfaction while aligning with Four Seasons policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in training, supervision, counseling, and evaluation of maintenance staff and plan activities.
• Ensure proper execution of work orders and follow-up; manage scheduling and projects.
• Prepare requisitions for purchases and work orders; liaise with Purchasing Director.
• Implement preventive maintenance schedules, policies, and rules.
• Maintain the Perfect Room program and advise on operations for efficiency.
• Track stock/item and tool movements and monitor distribution.
• Support the Safety Committee.
• Support energy conservation to meet budget targets.
• Coordinate with contractors providing 24-hour emergency service.
• Maintain firefighting equipment and train staff on emergency procedures.

Job description

About the role:

Assist the Engineering Manager in all aspects of resort and building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire & safety, HVAC refrigeration, interior, paint and decorating, and respond to inquiries and problems in an efficient, courteous and professional manner to achieve maximum customer satisfaction while complying with all Four Seasons’ policies. Assist with the planning, organizing, controlling and directing the workflow of the engineering requests.

What you will do:

• Assist in the training, supervision, counseling, and evaluation of performance and planning the activities of maintenance staff including making spot checks on a daily basis.
• Ensure proper execution of work order/request system and that items are followed up on when necessary. This includes scheduling, ordering, and initiating projects.
• Prepare requisitions for purchase and work orders and liaise effectively with the Director of Purchasing.
• Implement preventive maintenance schedules, policies, and rules to ensure an efficient department.
• Ensure that the Perfect Room program is effective and meets company standards. Be able to make recommendations pertaining to Resort operations ensuring maximum efficiencies.
• Maintain logs on movement of stock items and tools and monitor distribution of items.
• Actively support the Safety Committee.
• Support the energy conservation program allowing the resort to meet its annual budget targets.
• Maintain close working relations with hotel contractors who furnish reliable 24-hour emergency service.
• Assist with maintenance of all firefighting equipment in first class order and ensure that emergency procedures are understood and practiced by hotel staff.

What you bring:

• Minimum 2 + years previous experience in kitchen equipment and laundry, certifications preferred. Trade school in mechanics, refrigeration etc. strongly preferred.
• Requires technical knowledge of building maintenance and main plant operation, HVAC equipment and pumps, plumbing, and electrical.
• Ability to operate computer equipment.
• This role has direct contact with guests and as such, good communication skills are a necessity.
• Fluency in English is required for this location and this job requires applicants to have current work authorization in the United States. Ability to speak Spanish preferred.

Schedule & Hours:

• This is a full-time position.
