Job summary

The Westin Nashville is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to lead advanced maintenance and repair projects, ensuring safe, efficient hotel operations and reliability of critical systems. You will mentor colleagues, coordinate with vendors, and support event setups in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Responsibilities

  • Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex building systems and equipment to ensure safe hotel operations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on hotel infrastructure.
  • Support reliability of critical hotel systems and coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs.
  • Mentor engineering associates and provide technical guidance.
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment performance.
  • Assist with event setup and facility troubleshooting as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex building systems, equipment, and facilities to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted hotel operations.
  • Perform advanced preventive maintenance and inspections on hotel equipment and infrastructure, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues.
  • Utilize advanced expertise in one or more skilled trades, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry, while maintaining a strong working knowledge of all building systems.
  • Respond promptly to guest service requests and maintenance work orders, delivering timely solutions and exceptional service.
  • Complete minor renovation, repair, and improvement projects while ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to hotel standards.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to Engineering associates, supporting skill development and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment performance using established systems and procedures.
  • Safely operate, maintain, and organize engineering tools, equipment, workshops, and storage areas to support department efficiency.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed to support specialized repairs, maintenance projects, and preventative maintenance initiatives.
  • Assist with meeting and event setup, including troubleshooting facility, lighting, and audiovisual systems as needed.
  • Support inventory management, energy conservation initiatives, and ongoing efforts to improve operational efficiency and equipment reliability.
  • Follow all company safety policies, hotel standards, and applicable codes and regulations while promoting a safe working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the Engineering team and overall hotel operations.

OTHER:

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled mandatory training sessions and meetings is required.
