Job summary

Spire Hospitality in Burbank, CA seeks a Supervising Engineer to oversee guest services while maintaining full operational functionality of the hotel. This role requires leading by example, coordinating maintenance across rooms, pools, and kitchen equipment, and ensuring safe, efficient operations.

Primarily PM shifts with a $33–$35 per hour compensation, full-time benefits, and the opportunity to collaborate with Front Office, Security, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage teams.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • HVAC certification required; electrical and plumbing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example in guest assistance and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain a preventative maintenance program for guest rooms and equipment.
  • Support department head and guide engineers.
  • Foster teamwork across departments.
  • Work safely with PPE and comply with safety regulations.
  • Perform general repair and maintenance of equipment.

Job description

Position Overview

Position located directly across from Hollywood Burbank Airport, within minutes of Universal Studios Hollywood, the North Hollywood Arts District, and Burbank Town Center. This Supervising Engineer will provide guest service while maintaining the full operational functionality of the building.

Compensation & Schedule

Compensation: $33 – $35 per hour, depending on experience. Primarily PM shifts; candidate must have a flexible schedule.

Essential Job Functions
  • As a supervisor, lead by example in assisting guests with room calls and troubleshooting concerns.
  • Maintain a preventative maintenance program for guest rooms and other operational equipment (pools, kitchen equipment, etc.).
  • Support needs of your department head while providing guidance to the engineers in the department.
  • Create a team environment within your department and with other departments (Front Office, Security, Sales, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage).
  • Work safely, utilizing proper PPE and comply with all safety regulations set by city, state, and OSHA.
  • Perform general repair and maintenance of any and all equipment found in and around the hotel.
Physical Demands
  • Lift, push, pull, or rotate 50 lbs or more.
  • Stand and walk up to a full 8 hours a day.
Qualifications
Required Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience
  • Mathematical knowledge of building and construction.
  • Full understanding and comfort working on a computer with MS Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Experience working on HVAC, plumbing, construction, and machinery.
  • Full‑time position with flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Certifications
  • HVAC Certification (required).
  • Electrical (preferred).
  • Plumbing (preferred).
