Job summary

Hilton Garden Inn Blacksburg University, managed by Crestline Hotels & Resorts, seeks an Engineering Supervisor to lead maintenance and keep the property safe and guest-ready.

You will oversee building systems, safety, and preventative programs while coordinating with vendors and internal teams to deliver reliable operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; hospitality experience preferred.
• Must have knowledge of building maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC.
• Basic computer skills including Outlook, Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Conduct walk-throughs to assess safe, efficient maintenance of systems.
• Ensure projects and repairs meet codes and are completed on time.
• Obtain cost-effective proposals for maintenance and repairs.
• Perform guest response and preventive maintenance work orders as assigned.
• Schedule work with other departments to minimize guest impact.
• Inspect and certify Life Safety equipment per code and brand standards.
• Assist in critical situations and operate within safety procedures.
• Maintain preventive maintenance and work orders in electronic systems.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Engineering Supervisor to help lead our maintenance operations and ensure our hotel remains safe, functional, and guest-ready.

Overview

The ultimate mission of the Engineering Supervisor will be to ensure our guests’ satisfaction by exceeding their expectations. The position is primarily responsible for maintaining the building, grounds, and mechanical equipment with particular attention towards safety, security, and asset protection. In addition, the role is accountable for vendor oversight and overall property preventative maintenance programs.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Conducting walk-throughs and assessing the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and any other related equipment
• Ensure that all projects, routine maintenance, repairs, and replacement projects are completed in a timely fashion and according to applicable codes
• Obtain and present cost-effective proposals for maintaining or repairing all systems throughout the hotel
• Perform guest response and preventive maintenance work orders as assigned
• Schedule work in accordance with preventive maintenance program in rooms and public space with all other departments to ensure limited guest impact
• Ensure that all Life Safety equipment and systems are inspected, tested, and certified per code and any applicable brand standards
• Assisting critical situations (fire, natural disasters, major mechanical malfunctions, etc) and performing duties as assigned
• Maintaining effective preventative maintenance and work order programs through the utilization of electronic systems (Quore, PM Works, or brand specific programs)
• Organize materials, tools, and equipment to perform daily assignments
• Always maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area
• Maintain the proper use, cleaning, maintenance, and storage of all tools
• Handle chemicals for designated uses/surfaces in accordance with Safety Data Sheets
• Ensure key security program is in place and adhered to
• Maintain property grounds

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or GED and 1 years of experience in maintenance
• Hospitality experience is preferred
• Basic Computer skills required to include processing emails, basic spreadsheet manipulation, and database/systems navigation including familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
• Must have knowledge of: Methods, and materials used in general building maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, building and electrical units and HVAC
• Must possess or can obtain a certified pool operator license
