Verdantas in Mentor, Ohio, is seeking an Engineering Staff II with 2–4 years of civil-site and municipal engineering experience. The role focuses on planning, design, and problem-solving for municipal and infrastructure projects, with hands-on design and collaboration with mentors.

Candidates should have a Civil Engineering degree (ABET-accredited) and familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and optionally HydroCAD or ArcGIS. This hybrid position offers growth and a clear career path at Verdantas.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree required.
• 2–4 years in civil-site and municipal engineering.
• Familiarity with HydroCAD or stormwater modeling is a plus.
• AutoCAD/Civil 3D experience preferred.
• ArcGIS familiarity is a plus.
• EIT is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical planning and design support on utility projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations.
• Prepare design reports and construction plans using local and state standards.
• Prepare construction plans using AutoCAD 3D Civil 3D.
• Prepare plans and specifications for public bid.
• Prepare/assist with permit submittals.
• Prepare preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities.
• Assist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks.
• Document design changes and communications.
• Conduct on-site inspections as needed.
• Prepare project status and other reports.
• Assist Project Managers and attend client meetings.

What You'll Do:

• Provide technical planning and design support on various utility projects that may include storm and sanitary sewer collection systems, water distribution, and various other civil engineering projects

• Prepare engineering calculations to support design

• Prepare design reports and construction plans using local and state standards

• Prepare construction plans using AutoCAD 3D Civil 3D

• Prepare plans and specifications for public bid

• Prepare/assist with permit submittals

• Prepare preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities

• Assist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks

• Document design changes and communications

• Conduct on‑site inspections as needed

• Prepare project status and other reports

• Assist Project Managers

• Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, preconstruction, etc.

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution

• 2-4 years of experience in civil‑site and municipal engineering

• Familiarity with HydroCAD or other stormwater modeling software is a plus

• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D preferred

• EIT Preferred

• Familiarity with ArcGIS software is a plus

Salary Range:

The compensation range starts at $70,000 and is based on the position, experience, and licensure.
