Job summary

Radiant Power is seeking an Engineering Software Manager to lead a small team of embedded software engineers in the design, development, and testing of our aerospace products. The role oversees the full software lifecycle to meet safety standards (DO-178C) and DAL C+ levels, coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, and QA for seamless integration.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in embedded systems, strong mentoring and communication skills, and a proven track record managing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in embedded systems development, with a focus on safety-critical software (DO-178C).
• Proven track record of managing teams with similar skills and experience.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of embedded software engineers in the design, development, and testing of software for our products.
• Oversee the entire software development process, from requirements gathering to deployment, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the required safety standards (DO-178C).
• Manage multiple projects with a Design Assurance Level (DAL) C or higher, including ensuring proper design reviews, testing, and validation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of software into our products.
• Develop and maintain the technical vision for our embedded software products, including identifying new technologies and opportunities for improvement.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers, providing guidance on best practices, coding standards, and project management techniques.
• Ensure that all team members have the necessary skills and training to meet the requirements of DO-178C and other relevant industry standards.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including technical leads, project managers, and external partners, to ensure alignment and progress on projects.

Radiant Power is looking for an Engineering Software Manager to join our team.

This position is located in Sarasota, FL and is full-time, Monday - Thursday. This is not a work from home or hybrid position.

Relocation allowance may be offered for the right candidate.
