Job summary

Tesco Controls is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Engineering group in our Sacramento office. The role ensures the right technical capability is assigned to each project and balances demand with capacity, while the manager also remaining a senior technical contributor on projects.

This on-site role oversees cross-functional work across panel design, PLC, SCADA/HMI, networking, FAT, commissioning, and resource development. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of industrial automation / systems integration experience.
• Demonstrated strength in electrical/control-panel engineering, PLC, SCADA/HMI, or related areas.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks or other 3D design workflows.

Responsibilities

• Maintain rolling view of engineering demand, capacity, and milestones across design, PLC, SCADA/HMI, networking, FAT, and commissioning.
• Meet with Project Managers to assign resources and rebalance workloads.
• Assign engineers based on demonstrated capability and project priorities.
• Serve as a senior technical contributor on selected projects.
• Assess engineering capability and identify targeted training and succession needs.
• Support development of Automation Engineer workforce and ensure manufacturability of panels.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure manufacturability and production-readiness.
